This workshop aims at young professionals or advanced students interested in the work of Àngels Margarit / cia.MUDANCES. Àngels Margarit will share the tools she uses in her work to explore movement and compose or improvise with dancers in the company. The workshop is divided in two different parts. First part technique classContents floor work, centre and movement sequences across the space that grow in complexity. The training starts warming up the body from inside to outside, from slow to quick, and often from the horizontal to the vertical, trying to find the body functionality for the movement by using efficiently the support of the floor, by working with awareness of our skeleton structure and their connections. That work prepares our body to understand from which body organization and conscience we will move in the space and gives us the skills to deal through the given patterns and phrasing. The dance sequences are fluid and energetic, working on balance, off balance, impulsions, falls, suspensions, slides, jumps, turns, etc., using the weight and different qualities and textures between loose and tension, through and hold. In this dance material are specially important the relationship of the body as a whole with the floor, and the way we move between floor and air, the leading of the spine, spirals and the projection and moorings of the movements in the space. |

The second part gives more freedom to the dancers. Àngels will offer different tasks and instructions to explore and create movement. Each dancer can explore individually and in interaction with the others. We will learn and explore the composition tools and patterns that I used to generate the choreographic materials.
We will prepare the body in a different way and research new materials through different tasks, instructions or patterns to create movement. Sometimes each dancer will explore by himself, other times in interaction with couples, trios or other possibilities the group offers. We will improvise and compose using our own skills and individuality, as well as sharing with the others. Space has always been the main subject of Angels’ work.
